Worker dead at Tasmanian mine

The death of a worker at a Tasmanian mine has sparked an investigation.

An interstate worker has died at a mine in northwest Tasmania.

WorkSafe boss Mark Cocker said on Friday his investigators were looking at the "fatal incident" at Grange Resources' mine at Savage River.

The listed company has been operating an open cut iron ore mine at the site for more than a decade.
