Two $150,000 superbikes once ridden by Italy's world champion Max Biaggi have been stolen from a Victorian workshop.

Thieves broke into the Dandenong workshop on Tuesday night and made off with the Italian superbikes as well as six racing helmets and a motorcycle trailer, officers say.

The bikes are worth more than $150,000 each and were ridden by Max Biaggi, a former world champion in the 250cc category.
