Discus thrower Benn Harradine has booked his spot in the Australian squad for August's world athletics championships with an impressive season-opening effort in Germany.
Harradine finished second behind German Christoph Harting at the Werfer Cup in Weisbaden, with the Australian's best throw of 66.75m moving him to third spot on the 2015 rankings.
Harting's winning throw of 67.53m on Sunday was the biggest in the world this year.
The consistent Harradine won gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and has represented Australia at each of the past three world championships and the Beijing and London Olympics.
"Super pleased with today's season opener," tweeted the 32-year-old Harradine after his biggest throw in two years.
"Believed in the process and the great training I have done in the lead up!"
Countryman Julian Wruck clinched his spot in the Australian squad for the world championships in Beijing by winning the national title in March, having previously bettered the qualifying mark of 65m.
In other Australian action at the Werfer Cup, 2009 world champ Dani Samuels was fourth in a world-class women's discus competition with 63.99m.
