Hundreds of Brazilian fans in Australia have cheered their national team's 2-1 win against opponent Colombia.
Brazil scored less than 10 minutes into the match much to the delight of fans in Sydney watching the match at Darling Harbour.
It was a lead Brazil worked hard to extend and, having seen a Mario Yepes goal ruled out for offside, struck with aplomb midway through the second half, with Luiz sending home an outstanding free-kick to send the nation into delirium.
James Rodriguez, the competition's top scorer, added to his haul with a penalty on 80 minutes - making it six for the tournament.
And David Luiz thundered home one of the World Cup's finest goals as Brazil progressed to the semi-finals, disposing of Colombia in an enthralling battle.
But the win was overshadowed with news that Brazil's striker Neymar will miss the rest of the World Cup after fracturing a vertebra during the match.
Brazil now faces Germany in the semi-finals without injured Neymar and captain Thiago Silva, who got his second yellow card in the match and injured star striker Neymar.
