World Cup proves inspirational for Brazilian street artists

As football teams continue to battle it out on the field, Brazilian street artists have been inspired by the colour and fanfare of the World Cup.

Far away from the glamorous World Cup stadiums, spray painters are customising 20 giant footballs that will be shipped to cities across Brazil.

The project is called Energia Pra Torcer (Energy to Cheer) and it showcases the colour and diversity of the World Cup's host nation.

There is also a serious side to the exhibition as many Brazilians don't feel the games are for everyone with ticket prices out of reach for many in the country.

But, in the midst of World Cup hype, the project has tried to take the country's passion for football and merge it with grass roots street art.
