World Cup success can help A-League to its biggest season yet: de Bohun

The head of the A-League, Damien de Bohun, says that season 10 of the A-League is set to build on last season's record breaking year, and a successful World Cup for the Socceroos can only make that more likely.

Damien de Bohun told SBS the added bonus of the A-League All Stars game against Juventus and the Asian Cup taking place in Australia during the season, means season 10 could well be the best yet.

He was speaking at today's draw for the new season, which kicks off in October with Melbourne Victory against the Western Sydney Wanderers.

The recent signings of David Villa and Damien Duff at Melbourne City, which starts its campaign against Sydney FC, is evidence the League can still attract the big names.

But it's the fact that seven of Ange Postecoglou's squad in Brazil are from the A-League that gives him the most satisfaction.
