World Cup warm-up matches announced

Australia will again face India before the start of next year's World Cup, this time in a warm-up match on the eve of the competition.

Australia will take on world champions India in one of their final two warm-up games before February's one-day cricket World Cup.

India, who are also in Australia for a four-Test series beforehand, will take on the tournament hosts at the Adelaide Oval on February 8 as both teams look to fine-tune their strategies ahead of the World Cup which starts on February 14.

Michael Clarke's men will follow the Indian showdown with a final warm-up against the United Arab Emirates, the ICC announced late on Monday night.

The matches will not be recognised as one-day internationals and will have relaxed rules, including the ability to use 15 players - although only 11 can take the field at any one point.

In all, 14 warm-up matches will take place across Australia and New Zealand in the lead-up to the opening day of the World Cup - which starts on February 14 when Australia face England at the MCG while the Black Caps are pitted against Sri Lanka in Christchurch.
