World No.11 Alex Noren is keen to return to the World Super 6 golf event in Perth next year despite his disappointing showing in the inaugural event.

Noren was the highest-ranked player in the field at Lake Karrinyup this week, but missed the cut by one stroke after finishing his second round at one-under.

The 34-year-old's early exit means he doesn't get to experience the quirky final-day format that is set to capture the attention of golf fans around the world.

Under the experimental format, the final day will switch to six-hole match play, with only the top 24 golfers qualifying for it.

If a match play round ends up a tie, then the two players will battle it out over a purpose-built 90m playoff hole.

Noren is renowned for his left to right ball trajectory, which doesn't suit Lake Karrinyup.

Despite this, he said he would be keen to return next year.

"I'd love to. The golf course is one of the best I've seen. I just need to learn how to play it," Noren said.

"I need to learn how to shape it the other way better.

"I played ok on Friday, but struggled in my opening round. It is disappointing. Especially being the top-ranked player."

Noren said the match play component made the tournament more exciting.

"If you're 24th going into the final round of a normal event, you've got to play unbelievable to win," Noren said.

"Here you can be 22nd after three rounds and win. It's a bonus. If you can get into the 24, you're a good a chance as anybody."
