A would-be bank robber in China has proved that greed is not good after he tried to rob a bank of $1.7 million Chinese Yuan, that's almost $400,000 dollars.

Surveillance video recorded the man leaving the bank and dragging a bag of cash to his motorcycle, nearby.

But he can be seen struggling to hoist the heavy bag onto the bike despite several attempts.

He was arrested at the scene a short time later.

The Daily Mail reports that he later told police: "I hate myself for doing that. How could I do such a thing?

"I will treat my parents and my wife kindly if one day I'm let out of prison."
