TYLER WRIGHT CONTINUES AUSTRALIAN DOMINANCE OF WOMEN'S WORLD SURFING WITH SECOND TITLE
* Wright's win is the 21st time an Australian has won the women's championship out of 41 titles.
* Only two non-Australians have won the women's world championship since Layne Beachley began her dominance in 1998 - Peru's Sofia Mulanovich (2004) and Hawaii's Carissa Moore (2011, 13, 15).
* Wright is the ninth woman to win multiple championships, along with Layne Beachley (7), Stephanie Gilmore (6), Lisa Andersen (4), Wendy Botha (4), Freida Zamba (4), Margo Oberg (3), Carissa Moore (3) and Lynne Boyer (2).
* Wright is the first woman to win back-to-back titles since Gilmore won four in a row from 2007-10.
* After winning five events in her maiden championship season in 2016, Wright has secured this year's title despite winning just one event in 2017, the Rio Pro in Brazil.
