Wild weather has caused havoc in Melbourne today, with almost 80,000 homes left without power as power lines were brought down.

Wild weather has caused havoc in Melbourne today, with almost 80,000 homes left without power as power lines were brought down.

 

Heavy downpours caused the lower reaches of the Yarra River to burst its banks.

 

Just below the pedestrian bridge from Flinders Street station to the south bank of the Yarra, the Pony Fish Island bar was entirely submerged.
