Yawaru artist's graphic novel inspired by Chinese, Indigenous mythology

Australia's Indigenous people have a long history of telling stories in pictures that dates back tens-of-thousands of years. Now, a young Yawaru artist is putting a modern spin on this ancient tradition.

"Ubby's Underdogs" is the second book in an Indigenous graphic novel series from Broome's Brenton McKenna.

It is a story about a Broome pearl heist in the 1940s.

It incorporates Aboriginal and Chinese mythology which are well known and understood in the Kimberley town.
