Yellow Brick Road lifts earnings

Yellow Brick Road will post a full year loss but has lifted its underlying earnings into positive territory.

Mark Bouris's wealth management business Yellow Brick Road will post another full year loss, but has lifted underlying earnings into the black for the first time in its history.

The company said its net loss for the 2014/15 year will be smaller than $1 million, an improvement from the previous year's $8.8 million loss.

Underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of around $1 million will be a big improvement on last year's $5.2 million loss.

Yellow Brick Road will release its audited full year results next week, and has not posted a profit since listing on the share market in 2007.

The company was founded by businessman and TV personality Mark Bouris, offering mortgages, investment services, funds management and insurance.

It had $668 million in funds under management at June 30, up 57 per cent from a year ago.

Premiums in its life insurance business almost doubled in the year to $9.3 million.

Yellow Brick Road shares gained 2.5 cents to 49 cents.
