Yin takes Sth Korean golf 2nd-round lead

Angel Yin of the United States has shot a seven-under-par 65 for a two-stroke lead after the second round of the LPGA event in South Korea.

American golfer Angel Yin has shot a seven-under-par 65 to take a two-stroke lead after the second round of the LPGA event in South Korea.

Yin on Friday had an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole and six birdies, offset by a bogey on 17, to finish at 11-under 133, two shots ahead of overnight leader Sung Hyun Park, who carded a second-round 69.

Park, after winning the US Women's Open this year for her first major is ranked world No.2. She is tied with fellow South Koreans In Gee Chun (65) and Jin Young Ko (67).

Australian first-round joint leader Minjee Lee shot one under on Friday to sit in a three-way tie for 10th at seven under, four strokes behind Yin.

Su-Hyun Oh is the next-best Australian, well off the pace at two under for the tournament and tied for 33rd. Sarah Jane Smith is three over and Katherine Kirk (T62) is a further shot back (T70).

Cristie Kerr, coming off a victory last week in France, shot a 69 and was in a group of five tied for fifth at eight under.

Brooke Henderson offset two bogeys with seven birdies for a 67 and was in a share of 13th at six under.
