Em Ford, who runs beauty blogging YouTube channel My Pale Skin, recently uploaded a video showing the comments she received online after posting several photos where she was not wearing make-up.

Titled 'YOU LOOK DISGUSTING', the video shows Ms Ford in front of the camera, with various comments she received flashing across the screen; 'I can't even look at her', WTF is wrong with her face', 'revolting', 'gross'.
Several months ago, Ms Ford began posting photos of herself without make-up to her social media accounts, which she uses to give beauty tips.

After receiving a torrent of abuse in response to the photos, which showed that she had severe acne, she decided to create a film "that showed how social media can set unrealistic expectations on both women and men."

"One challenge many face today, is that as a society, we're so used to seeing false images of perfection, and comparing ourselves to unrealistic beauty standards that It can be hard to remember the most important thing - You ARE beautiful."

The video, which was uploaded a week ago, has ignited an online conversation about the unrealistic beauty standards imposed upon women, and the harm caused by cyberbullying and harassment.
