Young child locked up in shed at hydroponic cannabis farm, police say

A young child was locked in a room for long periods at a NSW property where three adults were allegedly growing cannabis with a sophisticated hydroponics setup.

Three other children aged between one and nine years old were found at a property at Elands, northwest of Taree, last Friday, and have been taken into the care of NSW Family and Community Services

"At the home, police allegedly discovered a sophisticated hydroponics setup and seized 225 cannabis plants in various stages of maturity," police said.

Police have discovered a young child locked in a room during a drug raid on a property on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Three other children aged between one and nine years old were also found at a property at Elands, northwest of Taree, last Friday, and have been taken into the care of NSW Family and Community Services

Police allegedly discovered a sophisticated hydroponics setup and seized 225 cannabis plants in various stages of maturity.

Three people have been charged - a man and woman in their 20s, and a 19-year-old man.
