Zac Efron wants to write and direct movies

Zac Efron, who made his name in High School Musical, says he would also like to step out of the spotlight to write and direct a film.

Actor Zac Efron plans to step behind the camera to write and direct his own movie.

The High School Musical star has already ventured into producing the films he stars in, including the comedy That Awkward Moment.

But Efron now wants to do more work behind the scenes, and has told the British magazine InStyle, "I aspire to write. I'm a good idea guy, though following through on paper is hard.

"I'd also like to direct but (I) don't like to talk about it too much; I don't want to jinx it. Every time I work with a director, I watch closely. They're all pretty passionate."
