Zara back in saddle for World Games

Zara Phillips has competed at the World Equestrian Games in France, just seven months after the birth of her daughter Mia.

Zara Phillips has made an impressive return to a major equestrian competition - despite having "a bit of a lazy horse".

The Olympic silver medal-winner, who is the Queen's granddaughter, gave Britain a flying start at the World Equestrian Games in France as they looked to pin down a team medal, going clear with her horse High Kingdom for 11th place individually.

Great Britain took team silver behind Germany.

Phillips reflected positively on her return to British team colours following the birth of her daughter Mia in January.

"I was so excited getting back in the team, and it is good the horse could prove what he can do. He did it," she said.

"He can be a bit of a lazy horse - he doesn't really get out of bed for too much - but he has been in a big atmosphere before at London (2012), which I think is something that we all strive for."

Phillips was crowned world eventing champion in Germany in 2006 and won team silver at London 2012 alongside Tina Cook and William Fox-Pitt, where she was presented with her medal by her mother, Princess Anne.

She is married to former England rugby captain Mike Tindall. The couple met during England's Rugby World Cup-winning campaign in Australia in 2003 and married in 2010.
