Zimbabwe to tour Pakistan next month

Zimbabwe will tour Pakistan next month, the first international tour there since the terror attacks on the Sri Lankan team in 2009.

Zimbabwe will become the first full ICC member nation to tour Pakistan in six years when it plays two Twenty20 internationals and three ODIs in Lahore from May 19-June 1.

No Test-playing country has toured Pakistan because of security concerns since gunmen attacked the Sri Lanka team bus in Lahore in 2009.

The Pakistan Cricket Board says Zimbabwe Cricket's security team will be visiting Lahore on May 4 to review security arrangements.

The PCB also says it tried to split matches between Lahore and Karachi, "but the visiting team's members expressed concern on extensive traveling."

PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan says he is confident "Zimbabwe's incident-free tour shall be the harbinger of more and more associate and full member nations visiting us in the months and years to come."
