Kiribati's President has expressed disappointment over a lack of consultation on the AUKUS deal. President Taneti Maamau says news of a strategic deal between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States came as an unwelcome surprise, and he feels island nations in the region should be included as part of the solution.
