Nacer Bouhanni of France maintained his overall lead in the Tour of Beijing with another stage win, while Australian Michael Matthews finished second on Sunday to climb to second in the overall standings.
Bouhanni, riding for the Francaise des Jeux team, won for the second successive day to maintain his overall lead with two days remaining.
Bouhanni clocked 4 hours, 8 minutes, 15 seconds on the 175km third-stage course from Yanqing to Qianjiadian.
Matthews of Orica-Green Edge was second, while Russian Aleksei Tsatevich of Katusha finished third.
First-stage winner Thor Hushovd was second overall after the second stage, but the Norwegian withdrew from the competition due to a family illness and Matthews now looms as Bouhanni's biggest challenge.
Frenchman Maxime Bouet of Ag2r-La Mondiale is third in the overall standings.
