Some Star Wars fans have been left confused by a scene in the latest movie, prompting AMC Theaters in the US to warn new viewers before watching.
'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' has swept box offices across the world, but the successful installment has divided critics and viewers.
A pivotal scene in the movie - that cuts the sound for added dramatic suspense - has resulted in viewer complaints about a 'technical glitch'.
The scene involves Laura Dern's character Vice Admiral Holdo on board a Resistance ship as she faces the First Order's destroyer.
Upon the climax of the scene, the sound is intentionally cut for suspense - a move that was not picked up by some viewers.
After consistent complaints AMC Theatre has reportedly responded by printing posters to notify new viewers that what they are about to watch is intentional.
The posters also tell viewers when the exact moment of the sound cut will happen.
"Please Note: The Last Jedi contains a sequence at approximately 1 hour and 52 minutes into the movie in which ALL sound stops for about 10 full seconds. While the images continue to play on the screen you will hear nothing. This is intentionally done by the director for a creative effect," the poster read.
In an earlier interview, one of the Star Wars visual effects supervisors said fans of the films might find the scene unusual because the iconic score is often played during the movies' dramatic moments.
The Last Jedi video and special effects supervisor Ben Morris recently told Collider in an interview the scene was intentional as they wanted to create a striking visual.
