The photos of abuse from the prison caused worldwide outrage in 2004, with the photo of the hooded man with his arms outstretched becoming a particularly lasting symbol of America's involvement in the Iraq War.
In 2005, Olivia tracked down that man, Haj Ali, to hear his very personal story of what was going on inside the prison.
Then, in February 2006 she brought Dateline a world exclusive with a second batch of photos of Abu Ghraib abuse.
And weeks later, Olivia spoke to two former guards from Abu Ghraib about their involvement, completing a trilogy of reports that won a Walkley Award.
She talks about how she managed to get her stories and the personal effect that seeing the photos and meeting those involved had on her.
In the anniversary special, Olivia also talks about her emtional 2003 trip to Iraq with an Iraqi-Australian returning to help rebuild his homeland after 25 years in exile.
