Ryan Jasper's report on the replacement of old Tibetan mud brick homes with cheaper Chinese replacements, and what this means for Tibetan culture, details the complexity of the clash between modernity and tradition in 21st century China.

His personal highlight? Playing basketball with monks, at 4,000 metres altitude, on a snow covered mountaintop.

"That was a ball of fun!"
