In her recent Dateline film 'India's Street Kid Press', reporter Calliste Weitenberg and producer Kylie Grey talk with a team of street kids, who are publishing their own newspaper to tell their stories to the world.
Calliste, in the latest episode of 'The Intern Diaries' tells Dateline intern Rossella Ibrahim, that many of the kids working for the paper are surprisingly talented reporters.
"I was a bit taken aback by how confident these kids were operating on the streets and just asking people questions as reporters," she says.
"Often I find that that's one of the biggest challenges you face when you're starting out as a reporter, is having that confidence and being able to back yourself when you walk up to people and ask them questions.
"And that was something that they just had from the get go, which I thought was quite incredible for kids that are starting off from the street and have not had any formal training.

She says the young reporters at Balaknama are also exploring very serious and often confronting topics.
"Things like child marriage, drug use, abuse, sexul abuse, physical abuse from higher powers - authorities, police - these are dangerous stories that theyr'e doing."
