Tony Jones

Tony Jones was a reporter for Dateline in the program's early years, before later becoming a familiar face on the ABC's Q&A and Lateline.

He remembers his time travelling to around 16 countries for Dateline, at a time when he was just starting out as a television foreign correspondent.

One of his most memorable stories was from South Korea, where despite the country's economic success, it was the violent reaction to student unrest and the harassment of labour leaders that he went to investigate.
