Woman and men face double standards, and we're not just talking about the gender pay gap.

Have you ever thought about why we use such different words to describe men and women?

A dominant male in the workplace can be described as assertive while a woman with the same characteristics could be called bossy.

Unlike practically any other European language, English doesn't have a lot of gender inherent words but some of our words have become gendered anyway. Think about the word feisty - have you ever heard a man described that way? 

Do we need to be more careful about the words we use and how we use them?
