After nearly 20 years, Jenny Brockie has said farewell to Insight - the national, current affairs program appearing on TV screens in lounge rooms across Australia every Tuesday night.

As the host of the show, Brockie led some of Australia's most important discussions about race, poverty, health, war and so much more.

Guests, and viewers alike, laughed, cried, and experienced moments of disbelief and shock as Brockie uncovered the details of peoples relationships, near death experiences, family dynamics, dating lives and more.

Below, Brockie discusses some of the most memorable Insight episodes which viewers can watch on SBS On Demand.

Young Carers, 2013

There's a hidden army of children caring for their unwell parents in Australia. These kids are brimming with kindness, love and wisdom. I came away in awe of them.

Joining the Fight, 2014

It’s one of the most extraordinary gatherings we’ve ever had in the Insight studio and made international headlines. One guest turned up wearing an ISIS emblem, as well as the emblem of an Al-Qaeda affiliated group, Jabhat Al Nusra, and walked out during the recording. He was later convicted of a terror plot and is now serving a 20 year prison sentence. One guest, who appeared via Skype, has since died while another guest was arrested and jailed in Turkey for working with ISIS. He’s also wanted by the FBI for allegedly recruiting Americans to join ISIS. The show was a unique and important discussion about radicalisation, why some young Australians wanted to fight in Iraq and Syria and how to deal with it.

Holroyd High, 2015

I love every minute of this program. It’s Australia at its best – welcoming, encouraging, celebrating difference. The kids’ stories are funny, moving and uplifting and their achievements against the odds are staggering. Yet some of them faced uncertain futures. A must watch for politicians.

Bloodlines, 2015 (part one and two)

This series isn’t just about the anniversary of World War II, it’s about how an accident of birth can shape someone’s life. An outstanding cast of descendants of the key decision makers during the war, including Stalin’s great grandson and Truman’s grandson. The two episodes open a fascinating window on WWII and its consequences.

Promised Brides, 2019

One of the most spirited, hilarious and resilient bunch of women I’ve met. Their stories are astonishing. An eye opener which captures a little known part of our history.
