Territory Chief Minister Adam Giles and East Timor's President Taur Matan Ruak came up with the idea of a forum of experts and community leaders to address the issue.
Territory Environment Minister Peter Chandler has been meeting with officials in Timor Leste to discuss initiatives such as a safety program aimed at educating school students about the dangers posed by crocodiles.
Mr Chandler has told Michael Kenny, he believes the Northern Territory can play an important role in sharing expertise on crocodiles with other countries.
