Australia has locked in another month's worth of fuel, as consumers and motorists brace for higher prices at the bowser and checkout.
Energy Minister Chris Bowen says the nation originally had supply until mid-April, but that has now been secured into May.
Mr Bowen says 3.7 billion litres of different types of fuel are on their way to Australia this month.
Everyday that goes past, there are more orders being made and more fuel being delivered. That takes the confirmed order book forward. And that's a good thing... But as I have always said, we're not going to overpromise - in terms of months ahead. There will be challenges and concerns, which we will continue to work through."

The Easter long weekend has been marred by a string of road fatalities across the country.
In the latest incident, a driver has died after his car crashed into an embankment after leaving the road at Merriwa in the New South Wales upper Hunter area.
On Saturday [[4 April]], in far-north Queensland, a 31-year-old man lost control of his quad bike on a local road in East Palmerston, a rural farming area near Innisfail.
Chief Superintendent Mark Wheeler has told Nine's Today program there had been six road deaths in Queensland alone since Thursday.
"Very very tragic. Behind all of those numbers is a person, a family, a loved one. And what we're seeing time and time again is dangerous driving behaviours, including speeding, drink and drunk driving, driving whilst fatigued. Driving whilst distracted and not wearing seatbelts play a part in all of these tragedies."

There have been no reports of damage after a pre-dawn earthquake near the Northern Territory–South Australian border on Sunday morning.
The US Geological Survey says the earthquake struck just before 4.30, 77 kilometres south-southwest of Yulara, a township near Uluru and southwest of Alice Springs.
It registered at a magnitude of 5.5 after it was initially reported as being slightly weaker.

Police say the 53-year-old shot multiple times at the property in Wollongong, south of Sydney, on Easter Sunday after a dispute between two people.
Investigators will allege the gun was unregistered.

Powerful explosives have been found near a pipeline in Serbia that carries Russian gas to Hungary.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban says Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had informed him by phone about the discovery, which they said had taken place outside the town of Kanjiza, near Hungary's border with Serbia.
It comes a week before pivotal elections on April 12 in Hungary, with nationalist Orban fighting to hold onto his more than 16-year grip on power.
But despite some criticisms that the incident has been fabricated as Orban braces for election, the PM says he believes the incident is an act of sabotage.
"Based on the information available to us, an act of sabotage was planned on the Vojvodina section of the Turkish Stream pipeline, which supplies Hungary with natural gas. I consulted with the President of Serbia. No one was injured, and the gas pipeline is operational without disruption. I thanked President Vucic for the work of the Serbian authorities. The Serbs have strengthened security around the gas pipeline. The operation of this pipeline is vital for Hungary."

With the moon looming ever larger, the Artemis II astronauts are racing to set a new distance record from Earth on a lunar fly-around that promises magnificent views of the far side never seen before by eye.
The six-hour flyby is the highlight of NASA's first return to the moon since the Apollo era with three Americans and one Canadian — a step toward landing boot prints near the moon's south pole in just two years.
Nepali Astrophysicist Rajan Chhetri has told SBS Nepali that Australian scientists will play a key role in supporting the mission.
"It will provide communication to Artmeis Two through the Canberra Deep Space communication complex. And it is one of the three stations that will help NASA to keep track of the astronauts and their journey to the Moon."

To sport,
And the CommBank Young Matildas have continued their positive start to the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026.
They've defeated India 5 to nothing.
The result means that, if Japan defeat or draw with Chinese Taipei tonight, the team will have secured qualification to the quarter-finals.
A draw would be enough for the Young Matildas to finish top of Group C, given they are currently ahead on goal difference.
