Hot and windy conditions across much of the country as fire threat spreads

Emergency warnings in Victoria and NSW have been issued for bushfires burning out of control, while in South Australia, conditions eased after a demanding 24 hours in the town of Yorketown, where 11 properties were damaged or destroyed.
