The Special Envoy to Combat Islamophobia has handed down his long-awaited report, containing 54 recommendations to the federal government.

Australia's first Islamophobia envoy, Aftab Malik, has handed down his report on addressing Islamophobia in Australia.

It includes a national plan with 54 recommendations, including sanctions, improved reporting mechanisms, and a boost to educational initiatives.

Data from the Islamophobia Register Australia reveals there has been a 530 per cent increase in incidents reported - since the Hamas attacks on October 7 2023.
