There has been another round of back and forth strikes between the US and Iran, pushing both sides back towards open hostilities in a more than six-month war.
The US military says it has destroyed five Iranian oil tankers in response to the latest attacks on its warships, while Tehran has hit back at American targets in Jordan.
US forces also destroyed three Iranian oil tankers on Saturday after it said Iran's Revolutionary Guards tried to attack a US aircraft carrier and destroyer with ballistic missiles.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the US will not allow Iran's attacks to go unanswered.
"Iran continues to try to hit US naval ships. And for every time they do that or try to do that, they're going to lose tankers. And I think you'll see that again today."

Three people have been arrested after an interstate police raid on the headquarters of the embattled CFMEU.
Police have confirmed that detectives from Victoria and Queensland executed warrants in both states earlier this morning, including the CFMEU's offices in the Brisbane suburb of Bowen Hills.
Two men aged 46 and 33 have been arrested in Victoria and charged with matters unrelated to today's investigation, while a 47 year old woman has also been arrested and remains in custody.
A spokesperson for the CFMEU has said the union will co-operate fully with the investigation.

The Australian ambassador to Mexico has attended the trial of three men accused of killing two Australian surfing brothers and their American friend in 2024.
The Robinson brothers, along with American friend Carter Rhoad, were fatally shot during a robbery attempt near Ensenada.
The trial of their accused killers is expected to continue through late September with at least 35 witnesses testifying.
Footage shows Ambassador Crispin Conroy arriving at court in Ensenada alongside the parents of the slain surfers.
CONROY: "A senior consular officer and I are here to provide ongoing support to Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, to Martin and Debra, so, thank you. Thanks for your support too.”
REPORTER: "Are you able to tell you about your interactions with the Mexican authorities?

European budget carrier Ryanair has called for an overhaul of Britain's air traffic control provider known as NATS after hundreds of flights were disrupted across the UK earlier today.
Although the technical issue has been resolved, major delays have continued as airlines and airports deal with a backlog of flights across the UK and Europe.
Ryanair chief operations officer Neal McMahon says there have been well known issues with the current system, including Britain's aviation regulator calling for a review of contingency plans after the automatic processing of flight plans malfunctioned in 2023.
He says everyone is fed up.
"Despite promises, reports and assurances that they would fix the systems, once again NATS, under Martin Rolfe's leadership, have failed UK travellers and have failed airlines who are trying to get their passengers to and from the UK. Enough is enough. It's time for the UK government to intervene."

The PNG Chiefs have secured the biggest sponsorship agreement in NRL history, with a deal worth roughly $15 million.
The Chiefs have announced that Bank South Pacific - which has branches throughout the Pacific - has agreed to a three-year deal to become the club's front-of-shirt sponsor when it plays its first game in 2028.
The Chiefs have already signed Hull KR coach Willie Peters to lead them into their inaugural season, while also signing a who's who of high-profile names including Brian To'o, Jarome Luai, Zac Lomax, Alex Johnston and Joey Manu.
