A man's body has been found in the search for a diver who went missing off Tasmania's picturesque east coast.

Tasmania Police Inspector Luke Manhood says search efforts began on Monday night after a man, believed to be in his 30s, didn't return to the group he was diving with.

The group had been diving about 50 metres from shore, off an area known as 'the gardens'.

The federal government says it is speeding up plans to criminalise the practice of "doxing" after an incident involving the Jewish community.

Hundreds of public figures with Jewish heritage who were members of a private WhatsApp group have allegedly had their names, photos and social media accounts published online by pro-Palestinian activists.

Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus says the government has already been exploring strengthening the Privacy Act.

He says new provisions to address doxing and hate speech protections are now being included.

"The opportunities for invasions of privacy and the opportunities for the use of people's personal information without consent, the opportunities for really malicious actions to take place affecting hundreds or thousands of people very, very quickly has been made possible. Legislation has struggled to keep up. That's part of the reason behind this reform of the Privacy Act that we've embarked on, and clearly all of those things are needing to be looked at."

Millions of dollars will be spent on a new job creation scheme for remote Australia in a bid to address Indigenous disadvantage.

The 707 million dollar program aims to create 3000 jobs in remote areas over the next three years in sectors to be decided by the community.

The announcement follows a damning report released last week by the Productivity Commission that called for a radical shift on the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, with the review finding governments have failed to fully grasp the nature and scale of change required to meet their obligations.

At a breakfast marking the 16th anniversary of the apology to the Stolen Generation today, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said his government already know improvements must be made.

"That's not a pass mark for us as a nation. And all of us regardless of where we stand on the political spectrum need to recognise that we need to do better."

A Senate hearing has been told that Australian soldiers being investigated for alleged war crimes committed in Afghanistan have gone overseas, some to nations without extradition agreements.

Greens senator David Shoebridge has told the committee 19 special forces soldiers had left Australia.

Special Investigator Director General Chris Moraitis has not confirmed the number, but says his office is investigating people "in countries which may or may not have extradition relations with Australia".

Four people have been found shot to death at the headquarters of a shipping company in Greece.

Witnesses have told police the shooter was a 76-year-old man from Egypt who had recently been fired from the company.

His body was found alongside the owner of the company and two others in a southern suburb of Athens, the Greek capital.

Last minute tickets are being offered for Taylor Swift's Sydney and Melbourne shows, as the singer prepares to fly into Australia for her concert series.

Limited tickets for all of the shows for The Eras Tour will go on sale this afternoon through Ticketek.

That includes restricted viewing seats which cost just over $65.

The tour kicks off in Melbourne on Friday at the M-C-G.

Australian swimmer Cameron McEvoy has secured a bronze medal in the men’s 50m butterfly at the world championships in Doha.

The event saw Portuguese teenager Diogo Ribeiro as the surprise winner, clocking in at 22.97 seconds, while American Michael Andrew also finished ahead of McEvoy.

Although the 50m butterfly is not an Olympic event, 29 year-old McEvoy aims to defend his title in Doha after becoming the oldest Australian to win a swimming world championship in freestyle last year in Japan.
