Australian cancer diagnosis rates have increased by around 30 percent since 2000. Now experts and survivors are calling for more funding.
In 2024 Mona Thind was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. It's the eighth most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia and it's estimated that one in 70 people will be diagnosed with the disease by the age of 85, according to the Cancer Council. This World Cancer Research Day some medical professionals and people affected by cancer are calling for more funding to better detect, treat and prevent diseases.
