A man has been arrested for allegedly running over a service station attendant in Western Australia.
The 39 year old man is accused of filling up his vehicle at an Armadale station in southeast Perth before attempting to leave without paying, allegedly striking the attendant as he attempted to stop the car.
The incident has occurred as fuel prices surge, with supply shortages also hitting petrol stations nationwide amid the war in the Middle East.
At least 184 outlets are out of petrol across Australia's three most populous states.

Australia and the European Union have agreed on a trade deal after eight years of talks.
Under the deal, almost 98 percent of Australia's goods exports will enter the EU duty-free.
And despite pressure from European winemakers, Australian producers will be allowed to keep using the term 'prosecco' for domestic sales, but they will have to phase the term out over the next decade for exports.
It's an agreement which Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says is worth $10 billion a year to the Australian economy.
"This is a significant moment for our nation as we secure an agreement with the world’s second largest economy, the Australia-European Free Trade Agreement will lower trade and investment barriers between Australia and EU, a market of around 450 million people."

Ursula von der Leyen has become the first president of the EU Commission to address a joint sitting of Parliament in Canberra.
Her speech has followed the signing of not just the new trade deal, but also a new security and defence agreement.
That deal covers increased cooperation on defence industry, counter-terrorism, and combatting all forms of hatred.
Ms Von der Leyen has told the parliament that Australia and Europe must stand together against rising threats to democracy.
"We in Europe have also been battling attempts to undermine our democratic societies; and foreign malign interference is just another example of the threats we face converging. As our adversaries adapt to cooperate together, we too must respond together. Because when we stand side by side, we are stronger."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared Israel will continue to strike Iran and Lebanon.
US President Donald Trump has delayed strikes on Iranian power plants for another five days while he says talks are conducted with a senior leader - talks that Iran has denied are taking place.
But Mr Netanyahu says he has spoken to Mr Trump, who told him there is still a chance of reaching a deal.

A terror group has claimed responsibility for the torching of four ambulances used by a Jewish community charity in London.
The Iranian linked and little-known Islamic Movement of the People of the Right Hand group has posted a video to that effect on its recently created Telegram channel.
London's police chief Mark Rowley has pledged hundreds more officers and armed patrols to protect the Jewish community following the attack, which police say involved at least three suspects pouring accelerant onto the vehicles before igniting them and running away.
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams says investigators are trying to determine who these men might be.
"We are aware of an online claim from a group taking responsibility for this attack. Establishing the authenticity and accuracy of this claim will be a priority for the investigation team but it is not something we can confirm at this point."

US comedian Bill Cosby has been found guilty of sexual assault by a civil jury in California and ordered to pay almost 95 million US dollars in damages.
Jurors found the 88-year-old Cosby was liable for the 1972 assault of the woman, after a nearly two-week trial in Santa Monica.
Donna Motsinger's lawsuit echoed allegations of rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment made by at least 60 women against Cosby, all of which he has denied.

To sport and in tennis news,
Talia Gibson's impressive run at the Miami Open has come crashing down at the hands of world No.2 and two-time grand slam champion Elena Rybakina.
The in-form 21-year-old Australian lost 6-2 6-2 in her last 16 match.
Before the match, the Australian had told the Tennis Channel it had been an incredible year so far.
"There are a lot of matches recently over the last couple of months that I have been able to learn from. At particular moments of a match what it was that I did that maybe didn't work and how I can change that moving forward to try and get some points, particularly the pressure points. So I think I have been able to do a lot of learning from that. And you know take it into these matches that I have been playing recently. Just do my best to go about it a little bit differently. A little bit better. Especially mentally as well. Just be a bit more calm when it matters."
