Search and rescue operations are underway as a helicopter carrying Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi has crashed near Iran's border with Azerbaijan.
An Iranian official told Reuters the lives of President Raisi and Iran's Foreign Minister were "at risk" following the crash.
Iranian state media says bad weather was the cause of the crash and was complicating rescue efforts.
The chief of staff of Iran's army ordered all the resources of the army and the elite Revolutionary Guard to be put to use in search and rescue operations.
Tehran residents say they hope for good news.
"If anything happens to him it will take time to replace him and for the situation to settle down and meanwhile things will be chaotic and this is bad for everyone. President Raisi has made it so far and however good his work was, I hope nothing bad happens."

New South Wales Police have established two crime scenes in the heart of Sydney following the stabbing of a police officer.
The first incident was on Elizabeth Street, where the alleged offender repeatedly stabbed the officer in the back of the head after pleading to be shot.
The second was at the intersection of Castlereagh and Park streets where the offender was caught.
The injured officer, who gave chase despite being repeatedly stabbed, has been taken to St Vincent's Hospital with no risk to his life.
Detective Superintendent Martin Fileman of the Sydney City Police Area Command says authorities need assistance to get knives out of the hands of those who could pose a threat to the community.
"I think it just shows you the risk that knives pose in the community. And as you're aware, the government recently made announcements to the introduction of legislation. They're going to give police more powers. They're giving us more powers. One to search for concealed weapons and knives (is) one of those. Any further powers that give us the ability to search for knives is a bonus."

United Nations officials say more than half of the population of Rafah, over 800,000 people, have been forced to flee the area since the Israeli forces started their military operation there.
Commissioner-General of UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini says Israel's claims of 'safe zones' in Gaza are misleading and false.
Residents in Gaza are also reporting that Israeli planes and tanks have pushed deeper into Jabalia in northern Gaza, returning to an area that they said they had cleared earlier in the war.
Mohammad Jouda is a displaced resident from Khan Younis.
"We travel long distances to fill one or two containers with water. Salt water also does not exist. There are no wells. There are no services. Humanitarian services are non-existent. Our homes were destroyed, and our children were killed. We live in tents. The heat killed us. Frankly, we live in humiliation and fatigue, and there is no one. No one cares about us and no one sympathizes with us. Unfortunately, we also do not have money to live and to feed our children."

Australians stranded in New Caledonia say the communication from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has been delayed and scarce.
Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong and Anthony Albanese say DFAT is ready to fly civilians home as soon as airports on the French-ruled Pacific territory are re-opened.
Sydney woman Taran Jenkins is stranded in New Caledonia amid unrest that has seen six people killed so far.
“There has been quite a delayed response from DFAT. It has been quite... (there's a) lack of information probably to say the best. You know, and we have lots of different people who use technology quite differently. We've noticed so that's why we've ended up sort of working together. I created a WhatsApp group myself just to rally everyone together because there was sort of simply not much information coming through from from DFAT, unfortunately. So we we started to plan our own evacuation strategy, to be honest."

In football,
Manchester City have won a record fourth-straight Premier League title by beating West Ham 3-1 in the final game of the season.
City are the first team to be crowned champions of English football's top division four years in a row after holding off the challenge of second-place Arsenal, whose 2-1 victory over Everton proved all in vain.
In a last-round shootout for the crown, with City beginning two points ahead of Arsenal, two goals from Phil Foden in the first half set Pep Guardiola's team on course for their latest title.
Mohammed Kudus pulled a goal back for West Ham with a stunning overhead kick just before the break, but Rodri restored City's advantage to calm any nerves as they marched toward a sixth title in seven seasons.
