Israeli armed forces disguised as civilians and medical staff have raided a hospital in the West Bank town of Jenin, killing three Palestinian men.

The Palestinian Health Ministry is calling on the international community to pressure Israel’s military to halt such operations in hospitals.

Director of Public Health in Jenin, Wisam Sbehat, witnessed the raid.

“The patient in the hospital is required to have companions with him. Three young men, including the patient and two companions, were assassinated. The way that they (the assailants) broke into the hospital and entered it was carried out as civilians and in civilian clothes, in women's clothes. They impersonated a doctor and dressed in the white (coat), and impersonated a nurse and wore a nurse's outfit.”

The Israeli military allege the three Palestinians were Hamas militants, saying they were using the hospital as a hideout and were preparing an attack.

Meanwhile, Hamas says it is weighing up a new ceasefire proposal but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says his forces will not withdraw from the enclave until they had achieved "total victory".

South-East Queensland is again experiencing widespread flooding, inundating homes and businesses.

Roads have been cut off and schools have been closed.

Forecaster Laura Boekel from the Bureau of Meteorology has warned of more rain to come.

"Moving on to the rest of the week we're likely to see an emerging trend in that rainfall, but definitely likely to see more severe weather warnings so while we might see widespread rainfall areas we will see pockets of more intense rainfall, and that's the kind of rainfall that we could expect that would be that heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding."

A severe weather warning is current from north of Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast up to Bundaberg, with six-hourly rainfall totals between 80mm and 150mm possible through to this morning.

The federal and Western Australian governments are looking for a quarantine facility to shelter thousands of sheep and cattle stranded in hot conditions onboard a ship for almost a month.

Around 16,500 animals are packed onto the livestock carrier.

The federal government reportedly ordered the ship to return from its route to the Middle East 25 days ago due to security concerns in the region.

Since then, it has been on a cruise to nowhere, and returned to Australian waters in recent days.

The ship is now docked in Fremantle port.

A Sydney vet credited with saving a young woman's life after a shark attack says help from neighbours helped prevent a fatal outcome.

29-year-old Lauren O'Neill was badly wounded after being bitten on the leg while swimming near a jetty at Elizabeth Bay, in the city's eastern suburbs, at dusk on Monday.

Veterinary doctor, Fiona Crago, who rushed to her aid after hearing her calls for help told Channel 10 the victim got help from everyone.

"Neighbors had already started to render first aid to her. We had quite a few people that was so helpful. People were throwing down towels and blankets to keep her warm. Yeah, I just focused on what I had to do which was to stem the blood flow and bandage the leg as best I can with what I had. And then from there, my neighbors were amazing. Everyone just kept talking to her and reassuring her until the paramedics arrived."

A national peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children is advocating for two Indigenous children stranded in the United Kingdom without passports to be immediately returned home.

A 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl who travelled to the UK with their British foster parents in 2019 have become stuck there since the pandemic lockdown, while courts decide their guardianship.

The complex and long-running case involves two kids who have been in the care of the New South Wales Minister for Communities and Justice since they were removed from their mother in 2010.

A government spokeswoman says the department is working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
