The 56-year-old man from Western Australia was found with the children in Kuta, Bali, after their mother became worried during a phone call from Jakarta.
The bodies were found by Bali police.

Canada is weighing up a potential associate membership of the European Union.
The union has not been flexible about membership rules in the past, but is reportedly open to the idea of giving Canada a new status of associate membership.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney wants a closer relationship with the EU.
But Prime Minister Carney says the nation is not looking to become an EU member.
"What we are looking at beginning - will begin discussions for a unique alliance with the European Union, between Canada and the European Union. We share the same values. We have the same priorities, and we have very complementary strengths. We're stronger together. And this is at a time when the world's more dangerous and divided, and friends need to stick together at these times."

A group of doctors from Western Australia has taken an arwork to Canberra that honours children killed in Gaza.
The installation - called 'Wall of Tears' - is by American artist Phil Buehler and honours the 18,457 children who have reportedly been killed in Gaza since October 2023.
It's been unveiled in a ceremony including Perth Doctors Medical Aid for Palestine.
Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi says it's an important piece of art.
"Every single name on that wall and probably more has extinguished someone who had a whole life around them, who deserved to live. It has extinguished someone who had dreams, who had future, and every child's death, every child's death is the loss of someone's universe."
