A man has been arrested in Greece in connection with a decades-old murder cold case in Sydney.
The Greek City Times reports James Dalamangas was picked up during a routine police check, ending a 27 year international manhunt.
SBS Greek says the 55 year old Greek Australian was apprehended in the town of Aigio, near Patras, where he had been living off the grid under a false identity after becoming the target of an Interpol Red Notice.
He's accused of fatally stabbing George Giannopoulos in a Belmore nightclub in 1999.

The family of Richard Scolyer has accepted an offer for a state funeral for the pioneering cancer researcher following his death at the age of 59.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has led tributes to the former Australian of the year, who along with Professor Georgina Long, took the disease of skin cancer from being a death sentence to largely curable through treatment.
The PM says the state funeral is in recognition of the impact of this work.
"He continued to work right up until the very end, until it was impossible, but spent, as I spoke with Katie this morning, his final days with family still in good humour, and with the strength, determination, and character that defined what is an extraordinary legacy. May he rest in peace."

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has condemned a new advertising campaign that features the slogan "Ditch the Witch".
In a social media post, the Labor premier has said a truck with the slogan had been seen driving around Melbourne as part of what she has described as a secret and well-funded political campaign.
The slogan was also used against former prime minister Julia Gillard in 2011, when then-opposition leader Tony Abbott stood in front of placards bearing the phrase.
The former PM has issued a statement saying she was disgusted to see the same trope being revived.

US President Donald Trump has stormed out of an NBC interview after being challenged over his claims about elections in California and the 2020 presidential race.
Trump had reiterated past false claims that the 2020 election was "rigged" and said last week's primary in California was, too.
Host Kristen Welker repeatedly pressed the president for evidence, leading to this exchange.
TRUMP: "Your elections are crooked, and you're crooked and Meet The Press is crooked and so is ABC, and CBS and CNN; you're a one sided crooked network. Right, let's call it quits because I've had enough. Thank you darling; have a good time..."

Britain, France and Germany are backing a push for direct talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, aimed at securing a ceasefire.
After talks in London, the leaders have called for an immediate ceasefire and said the current front line should be the starting point for any negotiations.
They also say the United States and Europe should play an active role in any peace process.
Mr Zelenskyy says freezing the current battle lines could be the quickest way to move the conflict towards negotiations.
"Yes it's the quickest way. Of course I want to freeze not not just freeze the conflict because we want to live in Ukraine, not just stop the war. We want to stop. And I mean this stop the way when the war will not come back because of some crazy people and etc... if they want to come back with this war after some pauses. So it's not the idea just to free us, but the quickest way to freeze."
