TikTok is being sold by a Chinese company to a group of American investors- including Rupert Murdoch, who owns Newscorp.

In 2024, the US government made a law that unless Tik Tok was sold to American investors, it would be banned in the US.

US President Donald Trump says the Chinese government has agreed to this deal.

"I had a very good talk with President Xi. I have a lot of respect for him - I hope he has a lot of respect for me too. We talked about Tiktok - a lot of other things, but we talked about Tiktok and he gave us the go ahead."

Foreign journalists have been banned from Gaza since October 2023.

BBC Journalist David Dimbleby says the film shows video from other wars that journalists were allowed to access and report on.

"But when it comes to Gaza, the job of reporting falls solely to Palestinian journalists who are paying a terrible cost, leaving fewer to bear witness."

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has asked the United Nations for Australia to have a seat at the U-N Security Council in 2029 to 2030.

Mr Albanese says Australia is ready to play a part in improving the UN Security Council.

"The United Nations is much more than an arena for the great powers to veto each other's ambitions. This is a platform for middle powers and small nations to voice, and achieve our aspirations.  And that is why Australia is seeking a place on the U-N Security Council in 2029-30."

An Australian woman who brought drugs into Japan will not be freed from prison, after asking a court to consider her case again.

Tokyo's High Court has ruled Donna Nelson should have known what was inside her bag at Tokyo's airport, even though she was tricked as part of a romance scam.

Her daughter, Kristal Hilaire, says she is now planning what to do next, to try and get her mother home.

"She was disappointed in the outcome. And I think she wants to get information on what options she has."
