Singer-songwriter Prince dead aged 57

The prolific songwriter and performer has died at his Paisley Park estate in the state of Minnesota after a short spell of ill health, which had initially been put down to flu. Fellow star Madonna has called him a true visionary, while US President Barack Obama says the world has lost a creative icon.
