Zlatko Sikorsky, 34, has been wanted since Wednesday over the disappearance of 16-year-old Brisbane girl Larissa Beilby.
Hours of negotiations with police and his father had not persuaded Sikorsky to leave the unit in the Alexandra Headland complex early on Saturday.

Residents in the Juan Street complex were told to remain indoors and the public to avoid the area bound by Mary, Mayfield and William streets as well as Alex Parade.
Police previously said Sikorsky could have access to firearms.
"We're just asking people in the local area here to stay away," superintendent Darryl Johnson said.
"We're quite comfortable we've got the situation contained.
"There's not threats involved at all."

He told media at the scene on Friday night that police had Zlatko Sikorsky "contained" in an Alexandra Headland unit complex.
The Special Emergency Response Team was also negotiating with the suspect.
Sikorsky, 34, was believed to be alone inside the unit on Juan St.
The scene was declared an emergency situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act on Friday afternoon.
An exclusion zone was set up about 3.25pm for Juan St and is bounded by Alex Pde to the north, Mary St to the west, Mayfield St to the east and William St to the south.
Residents were advised to avoid the area and remain indoors.
The Sunshine Coast Daily reports residents in surrounding streets were told to find alternative accommodation for the night.
Police have also set up a mobile command centre in the area.
On Friday night Supt Johnson said police were comfortable they had the situation under control.
He said there were no threats involved and would not disclose if any demands had been made.
"Tonight we're negotiating with a man believed responsible for a homicide in Logan," he told reporters.

Supt Johnson said police expect "a peaceful resolution" but "it may take some time".
"We have our specialists inside and we hope to resolve the situation peacefully.
"I can't say how we came to locate the male here, what I can say is that the investigation has been ongoing from Logan for a couple of days now.
"I don't know the rationale behind why this person is here on the Sunshine Coast."
An eyewitness claimed he could hear a man negotiating with police during the siege.
The suspect has been wanted by police since Wednesday, after a body was found in a barrel in the back of a ute.
Officers had earlier gone to a property linked to Sikorsky, looking for missing Brisbane 16-year-old Larissa Beilby.
He fled in a black ute when police attended a residence in Buccan, Logan.

The ute was tracked by police to a nearby housing estate in Stapylton on the Gold Coast, where it had been dumped.
He then left in a silver 2014 Holden Commodore with Queensland registration 966 WKB, before the body was discovered.
The body has not been formally identified but police say Sikorsky knew Ms Beilby, who vanished on June 15.
