SA flu vaccine distribution hits record

More than 600,000 flu vaccines have been distributed in South Australia.

A record 613,000 flu vaccines have been distributed to South Australian doctors, as the state's horror flu season continues.

SA Health's director of communicable diseases Dr Louise Flood said enough doses have been distributed to vaccinate more than 100 per cent of people eligible for a free shot under the National Immunisation Program.

"Although we have distributed enough vaccine to reach more than 100 per cent of the eligible population, we still have a limited amount of stock on hand in our warehouse and people may still need to shop around," she said on Monday.
