Pamela Anderson has told of her concerns about her close friend, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who was recently banned from having internet access or receiving visitors at his home, the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
Anderson told ITV's Good Morning Britain of Assange's current condition: "He's awful. It's terrible... He's a political prisoner in the heart of London. Cut off from everybody. Nobody can visit him right now. His lawyers possibly.
"I'm very concerned about his health. I think this is a form of torture, I think they're slowly killing him. I'm very, very, very concerned, deeply concerned for him.
"He's one of the most important people on the planet right now. He's exposing all these war crimes and truths; we really need him at this moment. It's not a coincidence he's being investigated at this time."
Anderson urged British Prime Minister Theresa May to "do something", and said "the UK is being so stupid".
"They have to make a decision, they keep on passing the buck, no one wants to take responsibility."
In February a London court to upheld the WikiLeaks founder long-standing arrest warrant.
Assange has been fighting to have a British arrest warrant for breaching bail dropped, claiming he fears an extradition order from the US may be delivered if he were to leave his asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy to face the British courts.
The Australian had breached his bail when he sought refuge in the embassy while fighting a Sweden extradition order in 2012.
