A group of shoppers at a Macy's store in Texas have confronted a man after he allegedly lashed out at two female retail workers for speaking Arabic to each other.

In two videos posted to Twitter, which have since gone viral, the unidentified man can be heard saying, "all I wanted was for her to speak English".

"This man made two women cry after publicly humiliating them. Please help me find this awful guy's information," the Tweet alongside the video reads.

One woman confronted the man, telling him to leave the store, before another male customer also jumped in to defend the two employees.

"I can't believe that you are going to stand here and talk to somebody because you don't understand them," the customer said, before the first man lashed out further.

"All you Arabs, all you Arabs and Democrats, go back where you came from," he said. "I cannot see how many Arabs came out of the woodwork?"

The Twitter account that posted the video said that when he confronted him, the man responded by shouting homophobic slurs.

It is alleged the dispute began because the man was unable to get free gift wrapping.
