Sri Lanka's president flees to Maldives before resignation deadline

Sri Lanka's embattled President has fled the country arriving in the Maldives on a military jet just hours before a deadline for his promised resignation. Gotabaya Rajapaksa had vowed to step down by today after crowds stormed his palace over the weekend. Protesters say they'll stage further massive demonstrations if he doesn't keep his word. SBS Asia correspondent Aaron Fernandes is in Colombo.
