Jonas Vingegaard is set to win the Giro d'Italia, the Giro Women opened with a dramatic disqualification for Lorena Wiebes, and Tiffany Cromwell defended her Australian Gravel Championship title.
Jonas Vingegaard has all but secured victory at the 2026 Giro d'Italia after a dominant fifth stage win on Stage 20 at Piancavallo. The Dane will become one of only eight riders to have won all three Grand Tours, while Australia's Jai Hindley is set to finish on the final podium in Rome.
The Giro d'Italia Women began with immediate controversy as Lorena Wiebes was stripped of her Stage 1 victory due to a bike weight infringement, handing the first maglia rosa to Elisa Balsamo. The race continues with the sprinters expected to battle again on Stage 2.
In Australia, Tiffany Cromwell successfully defended her national gravel title with a commanding solo victory in South Australia.
