JOWST, surprise victors at Norway’s national selection contest, Melodi Grand Prix, will be taking the best gimmick to Kyiv in the form of a LED face mask which pulses to the electronic beats produced by the wearer.
“Grab the Moment” is fresh and very current. Walmann effortlessly rhymes over pulsing beats before tripping into a chantable chorus where he professes to want to “kill the voice in my head”. This is not a grab bag of tricks, though. The gimmicks produced in the staging enhance the effort rather than detracting from it.
