If you feel up for handling some spice - some say that chilli is good to get rid of a raging headache - then these spicy burgers originated on the streets of Xi’an are the answers you're looking for! They are stuffed full of slow-cooked lamb heavily spiced with cumin and an abundance of fiery chillies.

Who can be bothered to turn on an oven with a pounding headache? It's okay, we've got the solution for you - all you need is a stove and a skillet, and you're on your way to hangover-pizza heaven.

Kara-age is a popular snack at many Japanese bars, and simply uses potato starch to keep things crisp. If you're in the mood for a milder fried chicken, these juicy chicken thighs with a squeeze of lemon and tangy Japanese mayo is sure to hit the spot!

For an asian twist to the classic Bloody Mary, swap out spring onions for the celery sticks, and use Japanese spice blend shichimi togarashi to give it its spice kick.

If you're a bit too far gone to enjoy vodka in your hangover cure, then try this Mexican version, which uses beer instead. The recipe varies from region to region like many popular Mexican dishes, but basically lime, chilli, salt, hot sauce and cold beer come together in a chilled glass. And if you don't feel like you can stomach any substantial food, that's okay too - this recipe also comes with instructions for a cayenne-spiced popcorn that you can nibble on while you nurse your drink.
